The Best & Worst Setups from This Week’s Barron’s

Nov 07, 2025

Barron’s Symbol Roundup (Nov 3, 2025): 6 Stocks, Supply & Demand Zones, and Risk-Managed SetupsEvery week, Mitch Firestone (Precision Trading Labs, NYC) joins Barron’s to scan the market for clean, high-probability price-action setups. This week? Six names—Zillow (Z), Abbott Labs (ABT), Boeing (BA), Coinbase (COIN), Meta (META), Rocket (RKT)—broken down with drop-base-rally (DBR), rally-base-drop (RBD), confluence layers, and 1:1 to 3:1 risk-reward ladders. No fluff. No predictions. Just marked levels, triggers, stops, and what to avoid. Let’s dive in.

Method in 60 Seconds

  1. Daily chart → Mark fresh supply/demand zones (DBR or RBD bases)
  2. Refine on 1–2 hour → Wait for pullback/bounce + confluence
  3. Execute → Limit entry, hard stop, measured targets (1R → 3R)
  4. Manage → Move to BE at +1R, partial at +1.5R

Use: Daily Bollinger Bands (lower/upper) + 50-day SMA as extra filters.

1. Zillow (Z) – Demand Long + Alternate Supply Short

Setup
Level
Entry Trigger

Targets (R:R)
DBR Demand
~$69.65 base
Pullback + close > $70.20
Below $68.80
$73.50 (1R), $77.14 (2R), $81+ (3R)
RBD Supply (Alt Short)
~$77.14
Bounce rejection
Above $78.00
$73.50 (1R), $69.65 (2R)
Confluence: Demand near daily lower Bollinger Band.

2. Abbott Labs (ABT) – Drop-Base-Rally Demand

  • Zone: Fresh DBR base after earnings drop
  • Demand: ~$112.40–$113.10
  • Entry: Limit buy on pullback into base
  • Stop: $110.80 (below base)
  • Targets:
    • 1R: $116.00
    • 2R: $119.50
    • 3R: $123+ (prior supply)
R:R Ladder: Scale out at each level—lock +1R early.

3. Boeing (BA) – Rally-Base-Rally Demand (3:1 Target)

  • RBR Base: ~$150.20–$151.80
  • Entry: Pullback retest + bullish close
  • Stop: $148.50
  • Target: $159+ (3:1) at next supply
Teaching Moment: Demand + daily lower BB + 50-SMA = A+ confluence
→ “When all three align, you don’t need volume—just execute.”

4. Coinbase (COIN) – NO TRADE (Yet)

  • Weakening demand near $230
  • Price broke structure—no base, no edge
  • Single-stock ETF note: Use COIN-linked ETFs for cleaner volatility if trading options
Rule: “If support turns into chop, stand aside.”
Watch for new DBR base above $260 before considering longs.

5. Meta (META) – Caution Below 200-SMA

  • Current: Trading below 200-day SMAbearish bias
  • Any bounce into supply ~$590–$600 = short candidate
  • Longs? Only above 200-SMA with confirmed DBR
Risk Note: Avoid fighting the trend. Wait for structure.

6. Rocket (RKT) – Dual Setup (Long or Short)

Direction
Zone
Entry

Target
Long (DBR)
~$17.20 demand
Pullback + reversal candle
$16.80
$19.50 (2R)
Short (RBD)

What to Do This Week

  1. Screenshot the marked levels (daily chart)
  2. Set alerts on 1H/2H for triggers
  3. Paper-track for 5 days:
    • Did price respect?
    • Was R:R hit?

Final Word from Mitch

The market doesn’t owe you trades.
But when fresh zone + confluence + R:R > 2:1 lines up?
That’s when you set it and forget it.
